BA Course: Admission Process

The CUET (Central Universities Entrance Test) Exam is conducted for taking admission in colleges. But there are some colleges, like IPU and NMIMS, that conduct their own entrance exams for BA admission. Even some colleges consider marks secured in standard 10 and 12 exams and take personal interviews as a part of the BA admission process.

BA Admission 2024

The registration process for admission to BA in 2024 will take place in August 2024.

  1. The student must have completed 10+2 from a recognized board.
  2. The percentage should be above 50%.
  3. 5% relaxation in the aggregate score given for SC, ST, and PWD by some colleges.
  4. English is considered a mandatory subject in classes 10 and 12 at some colleges.
CUET is considered one of the most popular exams for BA, and some other popular entrance exams are IPU CET and NPAT.

Types of Bachelor of Arts

An aspirant can pursue a BA in different modes as well, like full-time, distance mode, or online mode.

In full-time BA, eligibility is 10+2 from a recognized board with 50% marks and a duration of 3 years with average . fees of INR 10,000–80,000.
In distance BA, eligibility is a 10+2 qualifying degree from a recognized board. with a duration of 3-6 years and average . fees of INR 6,000–20,000.
In an online BA , eligibility is a 10+2 degree from a recognized board with a duration of 3 years and avg. fees of INR 40,000–1,00,000.

What is IGNOU BA

IGNOU BA is for those students who have not cleared 10+2 or equivalent exams. The duration of the course is 3 to 6 years with fees of INR 6,000. To be a part of the IGNOU BA program, candidates have to pass the Bachelor’s Preparatory Programme (BPP) first.
